RYK to provide 15 lakh jobs, reiterates CM

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday reiterated that the State Government was committed to provide employment to 15 lakh youth in the next three years under the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu programme by honing their skills.

Interacting with local youth at a programme in Palakollu in West Godavari district as part of Indiramma Baata programme, the Chief Minister asked the students to stand on their feet by utilizing the government schemes without waiting for government jobs.

Stating that nearly two lakh youth got employment in the six months after initiating RYK, he said that the government has set a target of providing employment to 3.6 lakh youth by the end of this year. He said that RYK was aimed to hone the skills of unemployed youth and help them stand on their own feet. He asked the youth to aspire
for higher positions based on their academic profile.

The Chief Minister also said that his government was committed to modernization of Krishna-Godavari basins.

Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the government would provide infrastructure facilities for fish and prawn culture with a cost of Rs 220 crore. He pointed out that the government has planned to implement Rs 2,500 crore agriculture modernization plan. He also said that the government has decided to scrap VAT on Palm oil.

Stating that there was no threat to his government, he said that his government would continue till 2014. He expressed confidence that the Congress would win 2014 elections both at the State and Centre. Responding to resignation of Roads and Buildings Minister B Dharmana Prasad Rao, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that he was yet to take a decision on it.

Refuting the Comptroller and Auditor General’s report on allotment of coal blocks, he said that many states were reeling under the power crisis due to shortage of coal supply.
