Ruyath Hilal Committee of Majlis-e-Ulema-e-Deccan announced that Moon was sighted yesterday and today, Thursday, 1st May will be the first of Rajab 1435 A.H.
A meeting of the Committee was held under the Chairmanship of Maulana Qubool Basha Qadri at Husaini Building, Moazzam Jahi Market yesterday evening. Since the Sky was cloudy in the city, Moon could not be sighted in Hyderabad. Information was received from Patna, Lucknow, Delhi, Surat, Mumbai and Chennai that Moon has been sighted in those cities. It was therefore accepted their version and it was declared that Thursday will be the 1st of Rajjab.
According to Mr. Ali Asghar Jafri, Shia Ulema have also declared that today is 1st Rajjab.
