Johannesburg, Nov. 2 : A Russian passenger jet that crashed in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula broke up ‘in the air’ strewing fragments across a wide area, an expert said.
Viktor Sorochenko, a senior official with Russia’s Interstate Aviation Committee, said that the jet broke up in the air and that the fragments were scattered over a large area.
He also said that it was too early to draw any conclusion.
According to News24, President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi urged patience to determine the cause of Saturday’s crash.
Earlier, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) claimed that it brought down the A-321 in Egypt’s restive Sinai Peninsula, killing all 224 people on board. (ANI)
