Russia Warns Trump with ‘negative consequences ahead of Syria missile strikes

United Nations: Russia warned the US on Thursday of “negative consequences” before US President Donald Trump ordered attacks on Syrian forces.

The U.S. has launched at least 59 tomahawk missiles aimed at Syria, following the deadly chemical attack on civilians.

Russia’s deputy UN envoy Vladimir Safronkov told reporters that. “We have to think about negative consequences, negative consequences, and all the responsibility if military action occurred will be on shoulders of those who initiated such doubtful and tragic enterprise.”

He said such consequences could be seen in Iraq and Libya.

The United States, Britain and France proposed a draft U.N. resolution on Tuesday to condemn the attack and press Syria to cooperate with international investigators. Russia said the text was unacceptable and proposed a rival draft.

In the six-year-old Syrian civil war this is the first US military action against the Syrian Government.
