Russia-China friendship model for global relations: Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday the Russia-China friendship is an example of how international relations should look like.

“It is principally important that the Russia-China friendship is not targeting against any other country,” Xinhua quoted Putin telling Russian ambassadors and permanent envoys.

“On the contrary, it has been an example of equal, respectful and fruitful cooperation between the countries in the 21st century,” Putin said, attributing the successful bilateral cooperation to the common approach of Moscow and Beijing toward global and regional issues.

Firm guarantees of undivided security, stability, respect for sovereignty and non-interference in domestic affairs must be the norm of all international affairs, he added.

Last week, during a Russia-China economic forum, Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi said the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination has entered a new stage.

Yang called the forum a step toward implementing the consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Putin at a conference in Shanghai this May.
