Rush at MRO offices for house plots; Congress men urge Guv to order CID probe

Telangana Congress leaders here on Thursday demanded a CID inquiry into a campaigning in the city on giving free housing to poor without any government order.
A delegation of senior party leaders, including Marri Shashidhar Reddy, Anjan Kumar Yadav, Rajaiah, MLC M S Prabhakar, M. Ranga Reddy, Niranjan and Banda Karthika Reddy called on the Governor and submitted a representation to Narasimhan urging to order probe into the false campaign and call for report within a fortnight.
Speaking to mediapersons on the Assembly premises after submitting a representation to the Governor, Marri Shashidhar Reddy said in the Cantonment area he found some applications in the MRO office for allotment of house sites by the poor. But these applications were not according to the GOs Nos 58 and 59, he added.
“Initially thousands of people thronged the Hyderabad Collectorate, particularly on Mondays to submit their applications for house plots. Similar was the situation at all MRO offices”, he said. He also pointed out that special counters were opened at the Collectorate though there were no official instructions or any GO issued. (NSS)
