Hyderabad, February 3: The National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) is organizing a Rural Technology Mela from February 2 to 5 at Rural Technology Park as part of its endeavour to boost technology transfer. A total of 180 stalls have been put up for technology developers and developing of products and sale which include stalls for exhibition also.
The cultural events of the Mela seeks to bring to limelight on the fast disappearing folk art forms, State dramas and so on besides expositions on other programmes like mimicry, humors etc.
The Self Help Groups from Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Orissa, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and West Bengal are participating in the event. Rural products like handicrafts, handlooms, readymade garments, khadi and village industries’ products, medicinal and aromatic products, leather goods, toys, decorative items, processed food items, coir products; silk, wood carvings, brassware, are on display.
