IT Minister KT Rama Rao today stressed the need for giving training and skills for rural engineering students to excel and get jobs. He was addressing a meeting at a hotel here attended by TASK officials, managements of engineering colleges, chairmen of institutions and delegates of some companies.
Speaking on the occasion the minister expressed concern on the lack of skills among the rural engineering graduates. To bridge this sort of gap the government has set up TASK to provide necessary training and skills he claimed. The TASK program is giving positive results for three years he aid. The Government will extend all support to the colleges and institutions to help the students excel the minister said. KT Rama Rao stated that the government has taken strong steps against some engineering colleges for poor quality. He said that engineering colleges are now maintaining standards. He asked the gathering to focus on giving training and skills to students of engineering, pharmacy and professional colleges and promised to take similar steps for students of government institutions.
Stating that India has great strength of its youth force he said that they are lacking communication skills . To overcome this problem it is good to replicate Germany School practice to offer one year internship in industries the minister said. It is time to put them on right track through necessary training and skills to make them job ready. The government has taken up innovative plan through TASK and will soon set up its centers in Warangal and Nizamabad districts he said. (NSS)
