Jaipur, March 08: Police today seized fake currency of face value Rs 26,55,000 in Nagar town of Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district, 181 kms from here.
“The currency in Rs 1000 denomination was packed in a plastic bag which was found floating in a pond. Locals saw the bag and informed police,” SHO Nagar police station Dharmveer told PTI.
“Thirty-seven packets of fake currency were found in the bag,” he said.
No one has been arrested in this connection and investigation into the matter is on, he said.
