Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma, Tennis coach Pullela Gopichand were among a large number of politicians, cine and business elite at the present at the program.
Speaking on the occasion, Chiranjeevi said that running helps man improve health and keeps diseases away. He said that more and more such 10K runs should be organized periodically for the benefit of the citizens. He also appealed to the health-conscious people to run for their health.
Stating that there was a need to organize such runs frequently to improve health and keep the body and mind fit, Nadendla Manohar said that Hyderabad should be familiarized to the world through 10K runs. Sania Mirza exhorted the citizens to participate in the 10K runs and prove their health fitness. Such programs would definitely bring about awareness among the people about physical fitness.
Earlier, the Assembly Speaker and City Police chief flagged off the 10K run. Chiranjeevi presented awards to the winners of the run. In view of the 10K run on the Necklace Road, the city police imposed restrictions and diversions on the movement of vehicular traffic in the city.
