New Delhi: Congress leader Jitin Prasada continued to maintain suspense over speculations about him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.
On Friday, when quizzed by journalists over the news about him switching over his loyalties to BJP, Prasada had termed these reports as hypothetical. On Saturday, he said ‘the rumor is on’ regarding this.
“The rumor is on. How can I comment on rumors? These are all rumors,” Prasada told ANI.
On Friday when Prasada was asked by media persons if he was going to join BJP, the Congress leader responded by saying that the question is hypothetical and has no basis. He, however, did not make efforts to strongly deny these speculations or rubbish the rumors.
Prasada’s remarks come after reports that he was upset with his party as he wanted to be Congress candidate for Lok Sabha elections from Dhaurahra in Uttar Pradesh but was instead asked to contest from Lucknow against BJP leader Rajnath Singh.
Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held from April 11 and will go on till May 19 in seven phases. The polls in Uttar Pradesh will be held in all seven phases. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
