Rudraraju condemns Venkatswamy’s remarks against CM

Hyderabad, January 26 (INN): Congress MLC Rudraraju Padmaraju on Wednesday condemned the statement of senior leader G Venkataswamy wherein he accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of being anti-Dalit.

Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party here on Wednesday, Radraraju said that Venkatswamy’s allegation was far from truth and it would damage the party’s reputation. Being a senior leader in the party, Venkatswamy should have restrained from making such a statement, he said.

Claiming that the Chief Minister never did anything which could be described as anti-Dalit, he said that Venkatswamy’s statement would raise doubts among the masses and would also damage the party in the long run. He said that the Chief Minister has already ordered a probe into the Amalapuram incidents and the local administration has been asked to re-install Dr BR Ambedkar’s statues.

Speaking about Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, the Congress MLC said that Naidu was never serious about farmers’ welfare while in power. However, he has now taken up the Rythu Porubata to cheat the farmers again, he alleged. He also claimed the TDP would never return to power in the State.

Radraraju said that being the Leader of the Opposition, Naidu should give suggestions to solve the problems being faced by the farmers in the State. However, he said that Naidu has been resorting to fruitless criticism. (INN)
