Haji pilgrims are hoping to find accommodation at the Nizam’s Rubaat will suffer for the third consecutive year on account of a tussle between the HEH Nizam Auqaaf Committee (HEHNAC) and nazir Hussain Shareef.
While the HEHNAC, which operates from the city, stakes claim over the rubaat, whereas the manager, Hussain Shareef says he is the rightful custodian.
What has further complicated the matter is that on the one hand Shareef recently issued a statement calling for the applications from pilgrims who wish to stay at the rubaat, and on the other, the HEHNAC too has issued a similar notification.
The two parties have been at loggerheads. All efforts to build a talk between them seem to go in vain.
Sources from the AP State Haj Committee (APSHC) on Friday said that, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Haj Committee of India (HCI) and the consul general in Jeddah has reached out to the Shareef recently. “We are hopeful of settling the issue,” said special officer of the APSHC S A Shukoor.
The Rubaat in Mecca reserves around 400 slots for pilgrims from the Nizam’s erstwhile dominions. Recently rubaat had demolished on account of the expansion of the holy mosque in Mecca.
