(Siasat News) A meeting will soon be held to consider such of the applications filed under, RTI Act which would damage the functioning of Wakf Board.
Maulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani, Chairman of Wakf Board met Mr. Jannath Hussain, Chief Information Commissioner yesterday. Maulana Afzal Biyabani told Mr. Hussain that most of the applications filed under RTI Act are damaging the cause of Wakf Board instead of improving its functioning. Some of the applicants are seeking such information which may benefit the vested interests. Such applications are being submitted with an intention to fulfill vested and personal interests.
Mr. Jannath Hussain assured the Chairman of Wakf Board that he would convene a meeting of the information commissioners very soon so that the series of filing such applications could be checked.
Maulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biybani told that there are some applications which bear no relevance to Wakf Board but it has to reply. Wakf Board is referring all such questions to Information Commissioner for seeking guidance. There has been a flood of application filed against Wakf Board with an intention to harass the officials of Wakf Board.
