RTE – Many NGOs dissatisfied

Many NGOs in Telangana State are dissatisfied with the implementation of RTE since no suitable steps are being taken by Govt. machinery for implementing RTE 2009 Act. The implementation of this Act during 2014-15 was zero percent. Delhi topped the list of the States in the implementation of RTE Act where 92% students was successful in seeking free admissions. Had this Act been implemented in A.P. and Telangana last year, 1, 75, 810 students would have got free admissions in un aided private schools. Due to negligence of the Govt., RTE Act is no being implemented properly. Private management of the schools are refusing to admit students free under this Act. This Act makes a provision for admitting 25% poor and deserving students free of cost. Govt. is expected to ensure free admissions of students under this Act.

A rally is being organized from Charminar to Madina Building on 15th June to demand free admissions in private schools for poor students. Joint Action Committee has decided to collect information under RTI Act about the implementation of RTE Act in private schools.
