RTC Workers Union Wants Govt To Stop Illegal Pvt Buses

RTC Workers Union, affiliated to Bahujana Karmik Sahasabha, has demanded the State Government to stop illegal operations of private buses, to save the State-owned Transport Corporation from losses.

Union Honorary President B Ramaswamy, State President P Subhash and General Secretary A V Raju, speaking to the media here on Sunday, said that the RTC is on the death bed, with huge losses, as seen from newspaper reports, and hence they have decided to strive for it’s protection. Out of a total of 1.50 lakh employees, the SCs, STs, BCs and Minorities constitute 80 per cent and hence they have taken upon themselves the task of protecting the Corporation. As part of it, they have decided to release ‘wall paper’ to explain their problems. They have also decided to work one day extra in a month, to save the Corporation, and also work for the welfare of the workers.

The Union leaders have demanded that the Corporation be merged in the Government. (NSS)
