Hyderabad: The police resorted to a mild lathi-charge at the Secunderabad Railway Station to control the rush of passengers who had lost cool waiting for a train ride to their destinations.
The commuters thronged the railway stations particularly, Secunderabad Railway Station in huge numbers to leave for their villages as the TSRTC employees are on strike since Saturday.
With the Dasserah and Bathkamma festival activities at the peak, Secunderabad, Nampally and Kachiguda Railway Stations were thronged by people wishing to travel to homes.
In the past the RTC, South Central Railway and private buses used to run additional services to meet the demand.
The commuters especially women had harrowing times in getting inside the trains. It jostling and pushing all along. To control the passengers becoming unruly the police resorted to baton-charge to control the crowd.
