Hyderabad: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees on Monday presented a memorandum to the Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan to intervene in the strike and direct the government to settle all issues, including the merger of corporation with the government.
The JAC leaders led by E Ashwathama Reddy and other union leaders met Governor Soundararajan and informed her about the ongoing strike.
The JAC leader said that workers were on strike since October 5 with “legitimate demands.” The leaders said that the government did not honor the wage agreement entered on April 1, 2017. Though considerable time has elapsed neither the RTC management nor the Telangana government take any initiate action in regard to paying revision.
Speaking to siasat.com JAC union leader Thomas Reddy pointed out that the government had appointed an expert committee on July 25, 2018. Though the committee report is ready the government has shown no interest in taking it.
They also brought to the notice of the Governor about the dues payable to the corporation.
Mr. Reddy further said that the employees have been committing suicides because of the government’s apathy.RTC worker Mohammed Jaffar alleged that the management has stopped medical services to the staff.
