RTC Employees Union rejects Rs 400-cr package

Hyderabad, December 23: The APSRTC Employees Union (APSRTCEU) refused the Rs 400 crore package offered by its management in the back drop of the strike call given by all worker unions.

In a press release APSRTC Employee Union recalled that packages were offered in the past but the management never kept its word by paying the amount.

“Instead we demand the management to increase the workers’ pay by following the percentage system,’’ Employee Union General Secretary K Padmakar said.

Meanwhile, the talks between the management and the National Mazdoor Union (NMU), the recognised union, failed today.

NMU already gave a call to its workers to participate in the indefinite strike from January 6.

Besides NMU, all the other unrecognised workers unions also announced their decision to go on indefinite strike.
