Hyderabad November 09: (Siasat News) RTC has decided to buy four thousand new buses at the cost of Rs. 778 crore during 2011-12 and again in 2012-13 another set of 4000 buses will be bought. An Industrial Training institute would also be setup near Hakimpet on a pilot basis.
A meeting of the Board of Directors of RTC was held in Bus Bhavan yesterday under the chairmanship of Mr. M. Satyanarayana. Later, Mr. G.V. Ramana Rao, Secretary RTC told the newsmen that the Board of Directors decided to buy 21 volvo buses also. Sanction has been given for constructing three new bus depots in Maheshwaram (R.R. District) Kolapur (Mahaboobnagar) and Madhurawada (Visakhapatnam). The present lighting system would be replaced by LED lighting system which would save Rs. 17.75 lakh. Senior citizens of RTC would get 25% concession in RTC buses.
