Nandigama, January 29 (INN): Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation would purchase 4,000 buses by March-end. This was revealed by Corporation Managing Director B Prasada Rao here on Saturday.
Participating as chief guest in the 44th annual day celebrations of Kakani Venkataratnam College, Mr Prasada Rao said that the government had already given its go ahead to this plan. This new fleet of buses would help in reducing the pollution levels apart from meeting the commuters’ requirement.
With the addition of the new fleet, he said the Corporation RTC would operate more services to villages and rural areas.
In a bid to improve the services, he said Global Positioning System (GPS) would be installed to track the movement of long distance buses at Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati bus stations. He said that passenger information centers would be established to provide details to passengers about services. (INN)
