Authorities of Road Transport Authority have issued directions to their personnel to check the roadworthiness and safety parameters of all the school buses in the State.
This decision was taken after the school bus accident in Khammam district has caused furor.
RTA Joint Commissioner Venkateswarlu said that a special drive would be taken up to inspect all the school buses in the State. He said that the buses that did not conform to the specified safety standards would be seized. He said action would also be taken against managements running vehicles that were not road-worthy. (NSS)
