RSS threatens stir over attack on Nagpur

Nagpur, June 01: The Nagpur unit of RSS threatened to launch a stir if the assailants who stabbed a party functionary last night are not arrested within 48 hours.

RSS city joint secretary Mohan Agnihotri(40) was assaulted by two motorcycle-borne persons with knives at Hasanbagh in Nandanwan area of eastern part of the city yesterday.

A delegation of the local unit of RSS, led by city chief Dilip Gupta, today met Commissioner of Police Ankush Dhanvijay and submitted a memorandum demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.

The attack on Agnihotri was pre-planned as the assailants kept the engine of the bike running and fled after the victim raised an alarm, Gupta said in the memorandum.

The delegation, which met four zonal deputy commissioners of police seeking speedy investigation, was told by the city police chief that four squads have already been formed to probe into the attack, he said.
