New Delhi: Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D. Raja on Sunday backed Ghulam Nabi Azad`s comment, where he compared the terrorist group ISIS with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Raja told ANI that he finds nothing wrong in Azad`s statement,as the Congress leader has attacked the two communal ideologies, which are not good for humanity.
“I don`t find anything wrong in what Azad has said, he has attacked both the communal ideologies as both are not in the interest of humanity. He has attacked fundamentalist forces on both sides, as these work to destroy the social harmony and social fabric of the country. All in all he has attacked all shades of communalism,” said Raja.
Azad on Saturday had kicked a row after he sought to draw a parallel between the RSS and the ISIS, evoking sharp responses from the Hindutva outfit and the BJP, which demanded an apology from him.
“We oppose organisations like ISIS, the way we oppose the RSS. If those among us in Islam too do wrong things, they are no way less than the RSS,” the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha said at an event organised by Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind.”
