RSS holds key meeting in Gujarat before state polls

A 3-day crucial meeting of RSS commenced on Friday ahead of assembly elections in Gujarat in which 60 top leaders of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will assemble at Kayavarohan, a village about 60 km away from Vadodara.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will also attend the meeting. It must be recalled that Bhagwat had praised Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar for good governance, which may have rubbed his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi the wrong way.

The meeting of the RSS in Gujarat also assumes significance in the backdrop of Sangh veterans such as Keshubhai Patel and Gordhan Zadaphia going on a warpath against Modi, who is being gradually promoted in national polity.
