RSS to have a review meting for BJP’s debacle in Delhi elections

After the Bharatiya Janata Party’s severe drubbing in the Delhi assembly elections, the ideological mentor of the BJP, on Thursday is holding a meeting in the national capital to discuss the reasons for the loss.

The meeting at Keshav Kunj in central Delhi’s is being supervised by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Top party leaders took part in the meeting to analyse the results.

The RSS, which played a crucial role in Modi’s spectacular victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, had again put its weight behind the BJP in the Delhi campaign. Yet the BJP suffered one of its worst defeats ever, winning a mere three seats. The Aam Aadmi Party won a whopping 67 of the 70 seats.

Among the issues likely to be discussed in today’s meeting is the controversial decision to field Kiran Bedi as the BJP’s chief ministerial candidate and her defeat from Krishna Nagar, a BJP bastion earlier represented by Union minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, an old RSS hand.
