RSS’ brainstorming session to begin at Rajgir from today

Patna, October 09: BJP’s debacle in the recent Lok Sabha elections and its internal problems are expected to figure at a three-day executive committee meet of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh beginning at Rajgir today.

RSS media in-charge Manmohan Vaidya said Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha L.K. Advani and BJP president Rajnath Singh would not attend the meet, the first ever in Bihar.

The BJP would be represented by Bal Apte, Ramlal, V Satish and Saudan Singh, he said.

Asked whether RSS would have a separate meeting with BJP leaders, he said no such meeting was scheduled.

The meeting would be attended by its chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Bahiyaji Joshi.

The executive committee would discuss terrorism, Naxalism, border dispute with Pakistan and China and drought, he said.

The RSS leader said the proposals related to internal security and environment could be taken up during the meet.

All organisations of RSS’ vichar parivar (ideological family) like BJP and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthy Parishad (BJP’s student wing) will discuss the year’s progress and plans, a senior RSS functionary said.

The meeting would review the expansion of the ‘shakhas’ of RSS, besides apolitical agenda on the ongoing ‘Gau Gram Yatra’ (campaign to save the cows).
