RSS, BJP agree not to project anyone as PM candidate ahead of 2014 polls

New Delhi, April 11 (ANI): The Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have agreed that they will not project anyone as a prime ministerial candidate before or during the 2014 general elections.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and his associates have, according to a website, decided that the BJP must not project anyone as the prime ministerial candidate. The decision was reached after consultations with BJP president Rajnath Singh nad BJP Parliamentary Party chairman L.K. Advani.

The decision is the outcome of an all India survey of 543 Lok Sabha constituencies. It was conducted over a fortnight in the months of March and April this year, politicsparty.com reports.

About 200 respondents participated in the survey. (ANI)
