RSP urges CM to help reopen closed industries

Telangana & Andhra Pradesh States’ Committee of Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) today addressed an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao demanding him to open the closed 50 industries, including major, middle and small scale industries in Telangana State.

In the an open letter, Janakiramulu stated that some 25,000 labourers lost employment and fell on the road. About 3,650 workers of Sirpur Kagaznagar Paper Mill were not getting salaries for the last four months and four workers died during this period. About 2,000 workers also lost employment due to the closure of Warangal Build directly and about 10,000 workers lost their employment indirectly.

Janakiramulu alleged that police resorted to lathi-charge at Warangal when the workers tried to meet public representatives regarding the closed industries’ issue. On the other hand, the government was not reacting on the strike by several workers unions and various political parties for the last one month.

The RSP leader said youth expected many new industries in the new State, but nothing has happened despite the ruling party delivered promises during elections. He demanded that the TRS Government immediately initiate steps to stop the closure of industries and initiate steps to open the closed industries. (NSS)
