Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana released Rs. 87.50 crore to Telangana State Minorities Residential Schools Society during the current year for starting the schools. Director of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementation of Minorities Residential Schools Scheme.
It may be mentioned that Govt. of Telangana has started 71 residential schools for minorities. It proposes to start 120 schools within the next three years. During the first phase, Rs. 350 crore was allocated for these schools. Out of 71 schools, there are 33 schools for girls. The Govt. proposes to elevate the status of these schools upto junior college level.
