Muzaffarnagar: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted Rs 62 lakh from three ATMs here by tampering with them, police said.
The money was stolen from two ATMs of HDFC bank and one ATM of the Axis Bank in the city on September 25 and the incident came to light yesterday, they said.
Rajnish Kumar, executive officer of the TSI India, which transfers money from the bank branch to the ATMs, lodged a complaint with the police yesterday after the discovery, police said.
He alleged that the thieves stole Rs 21 lakh from one HDFC ATM and Rs 22 lakh from the bank’s another ATM. They looted Rs 19 lakh from the Axis Bank ATM, police added.
The miscreants entered into the ATM cabins blocked the CCTV and stole the cash, the complainant said.
