Rs 577 cr to be spent on developmental activities CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today directed the officials to take up developmental works at a cost of Rs 577.35 crore for creating world class infrastructure in city for the forthcoming Biodiversity a International Convention to be held here in October.

At a review meeting here, the Chief Minister said the developmental works including strengthening and recarpeting of BT roads, remodeling of storm water drainage, improvement of side walks, modern lighting, lane marking, traffic islands, signages, street furniture, traffic signals, improvement of sanitation, development of greenery on traffic islands and central media and other works to be taken up by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), National Highways and Roads and Buildings Department, an official release here said. The Chief Minister said recently tenders have been finalised for H-TRIMS Project for modernisation of the traffic signals (220) for the entire GHMC area and the cost of the project was Rs 65 crores. Since, M/s.BEL has already been identified as the bidder, funds may be provided by the government so as to complete the works in Phase-I before the COP-11 on all the identified 25 roads. UNI
