The State Government today released Rs 51 crore towards Rs 4 incentive per liter milk under Vijaya Dairy Corporation.
Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav said the government released the funds in second phase for encouraging the people collecting milk for State wide use. With this, about one lakh people procuring milk will get benefit, he said. The minister said the arrears from April to September this year were being released.
Talasani said the State government aims to encourage milk procurement in the State and cater to the growing needs of people. “We plan to increase procurement target to 1.50 lakh persons a day from one lakh persons. It was decided to see that reproduction of mulching animals is increased manifold and conduct free health camps to treat cattle. The people procuring milk will get all support from the government, he added. (NSS)
