Telangana ministers T Harish Rao and Tummala Nageshwar Rao today performed Bhoomi Puja as part of development programs for several road expansion works in Jinnaram mandal of Medak district here.
The works will be taken up at a few villages at an estimated cost of Rs 47.5 crore. On the occasion, the ministers handed over loan cheques to the tune of Rs 2.55 crore to 51 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Jinnaram village. They also distributed 1,200 gas connections to eligible poor beneficiaries under Deepam Scheme on the occasion.
Harish Rao said the TRS government will offer loans to women of the SGHs. A program in this regard will soon be launched to give Rs 10 lakh to these groups, he added. Tummala Nageshwar Rao attributed the ongoing suicides by farmers to the negligent and inefficient policies of the previous governments. Chief Minster K Chandrasekhar Rao was keen on making Telangana a welfare State and surpass others in development sector, he stated. (NSS)
