Hyderabad: The Tourism Ministry has sanctioned Rs 41 crore for the construction of an interpretation center at the Qutb Shahi tombs complex which is also be known as the visitor’s center. The Central government has granted Rs. 99.42 crore to Telangana to develop a heritage circuit in Hyderabad under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme.
The heritage circuits which are to be developed include Qutb Shahi Heritage Park, Paigah Tomb, Hayat Bakshi Begum Mosque and Raymond’s Tomb. The money is to be spent in the financial year 2016-2017.
The Ministry launched the Swadesh Darshan scheme in 2015 to develop theme-based tourist circuits across the country.
According to TSTDC, Rs 82.43 crore will be spent on development of the Qutb Shahi Heritage Park. The tombs would have galleries, restaurant, banquet, admin block, souvenir shop, AV room, lecture hall, and outdoor seating. Four battery operated buses.
At least Rs 4.10 crore will be spent on Paigah Tombs, Rs 2.18 crore on Hayat Bakshi Begum Mosque and Rs 4.20 crore on Raymond’s Tomb.
This project was approved on Tuesday during a meeting between Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director Christina Z. Chongthu and Vinod Zutshi, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, New Delhi. The meeting was attended by Suman Billa, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, and Assistant Director General Bharathi Sharma.
The plan is aimed at improving the experience of the tourists who visit these monuments.
