The State Government today said every district will get Rs 30 lakh for conducting celebrations of State Formation Day on June 2.
Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma today held a video conference at Secretariat here on Friday with district Collectors and others on the conduct of June 2 celebrations. On the occasion, Rajiv Sharma said the State government was releasing Rs 30 lakh to each district for the purpose and celebrations should be conducted in a festive manner from village level to national capital. He said the officials at districts, towns, municipalities, mandals and villages should direct their staff for magnificent conduct of the event by hoisting tricolor. The officials were asked to take steps to illuminate main thoroughfares, junctions, government offices, market yards, cooperative societies, theatres, private offices.
Special programs like rallies, runs, debates, Kavi sammelanams, mushairas and competitions should be conducted besides felicitating 25 eminent personalities of various fields in a fitting manner. Distribution of fruits, bread and milk at orphanages, blood donation camps be conducted by involving people in the festivities in a big way. Wide publicity should be given by erecting hoardings, wall-posters and distribute pamphlets among the people on the importance of the Telangana formation in districts, towns, mandal headquarters and villages, he added.
As part of the celebrations, the officials should take steps for dog shows and horse shows and a clean drive of seven days be taken up at district headquarters, municipalities, mandals and villages and reports be submitted to the government on the programs conducted. Kin of Telangana martyrs should be involved in the statehood festivities, besides youth and women associations, IKP groups, voluntary organizations, sports associations. Special prayers be conducted at temples, mosques, churches and gurudwaras and distribution of pensions, gas connections, NREGS salaries, foundation laying schemes and assets. He directed the Collectors to send 100 experts in various fields from their districts to attend a program to be addressed by Governor ESL Narasimhan at HICC on the occasion. (NSS)
