Assam government today handed over Rs 3 lakh to the wife of an autorickshaw driver who was killed while resisting chain-snatchers here on October 19. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi handed over a cheque for Rs 3 lakh to Biju Rajbanshi, wife of Brojen Rajbanshi, who died after being stabbed by the chain snatchers at Chatribari area of the city. “Brojen Rajbanshi sacrificed his life fighting anti- social elements. He is an example to all of us and it is our responsibility to ensure well-being of his family,” Gogoi said, after handing over the cheque at his official residence. The Chief Minister added that his government would also look at the issue of providing job to the wife of Rajbanshi and take care of the education of his four children. PTI
