CM of AP,Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy told yesterday that it is the top priority of the state government to maintain law and order situation during Ramzaan and Bonalu festivals. Dressing a meeting of higher officials and public representatives, the CM said that communal harmony should be maintained during these festivals since Bonalu and Ramazn are occurring in the same month. He requested the political and religious leaders to extend their cooperation in this regard. He issued instructions to the departments of police and Municipal Corporation to take necessary steps for facilitating the people to celebrate these festivals peacefully.
The CM said that Rs. 2.5cr would be spent on providing basic facilities in all the mosques of the state. He instructed the Chief Secretary to issue a circular to all the collectors to convene contact meetings at district levels for making arrangements for Ramzaan.Mr Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani,Chairman Waqf Board told that the repairs take place in Eidgahs and tents and public address systems are provided. Whitewashing and repair work will also be done in the mosques. On the suggestion of the Chairman Waqf Board, The CM assured that a GO would be issued for releasing Rs.2.5 Cr.
Mr Mohammed Ali Shabbir,former minister expressed his satisfaction on the arrangements made by the Govt.Mr Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed told that all the Govt arrangements are confined only to Hyd city, whereas more arrangements are needed at district levels. He desired to issue instructions to the Police not to fine people coming after mosques after offering Taraweeh prayers.Mr Farooq Hussein also stressed the need for making similar arrangements in villages and districts. He suggested to maintain regular supply of drinking water, Installation of high mast lights and the supply of additional 3kg sugar.Mr Mohammed Saleem,MLC for allowing the traders to keep their shops open till late night during Ramazaan and not to harass the traders. He also suggested one more month’s salary to Imams and Muezzins of the mosques during Ramazaan.
Mr Anurag Sharma, commissioner of city police informed that after 33 years bonalu and ramazaan are occurring in the same month. He told that elaborate police arrangements are being made for the regular flow of traffic and maintenance of law and order.He said that a Joint control room of Police and GHMC would be setup.Mr Krishna Babu,Commisoner of GHMC told that 60 additional vehicles will be kept ready for clearing garbage. The officials to water works assured that there will be continuous water supply during Ramazan and a special water tanker would be arranged for Mecca Masjid.Mr Syed Ali Murtuza Rizvi,Vice Chairman and MD of AP GENCO said that 2 mobile transformers would be available for maintaining uninterrupted power supply and an official will be deputed to monitor regular current supply.Mr Sunil Sharma,Commisoner of civil supplies told that half a kilo additional sugar would be supplied to fair price shops during the month.Mr Ashok Kumar,Commisioner of Labour told that the rules will be relaxed foir night bazaars.Mr Muhammad Ali Rafat,MD of APDDC assured that milk will be supplied during the month of ramazaan in adequate quantities.He informed that last year 6.5 lac litres of milk was sold during the ramazaan festival.This year also adequate supply of milk will be ensured.District incharge minister of Hyd,Dr.J Geetha Reddy,Minister of civil supplies Mr D Sridhar Babu,MP’s Mr MA Khan and Mr Anjan Kumar Yadav,MLC Mr Prabhakar public representatives,IAS and IPS officers were present in the meeting.Mr Mukesh Kumar Veena collector of Hyd welcomed the participants of the meeting.
