Rs 20,000 salary, 2BHK for Home Guards: CM

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today announced sops to home guards including Rs 20,000 monthly salary from Rs 12000, two bedroom housing and others. Since it is very hard to make a better living with just Rs 12000 the government hiking their salary to Rs 20000 and also a double bedroom facility he said.

Talking to home guards after discussing on their problems at Pragathi Bhavan here along with Home Minister N Narsimha Reddy, DGP Mahender Reddy and other officials, the chief minister said that justice will be done to 18,491 home guards who will benefit the new salary free Bus Pass in Hyderabad and provide facilities on par with regular police. The government will provide double bedroom housing facility to the home guards at the district they want he said. The Chief Minister took a dig at the opposition for moving courts against the government efforts to regularize contract lecturers. He said that he felt unhappy when the courts quashed a petition against the regularization of contract lecturers though the government is ready to make them permanent. We fought for statehood to benefit to people from our own income.

Apart from regular salary, Rs 1000 additional amount will be offered to home guards every year, six months maternity leaves for women, 15 days paternity leaves for men, health facilities on par with regular police he said. KCR also said that the government will provide 25 per cent quota in SPF, 20 per cent drivers, 10 to 15 per cent in fire, police communications 2 to 10 per cent, AR Constables 5 to 15 per cent. Those working in traffic wing will be considered a permanent employee and give allowance from January and Rs 200 daily allowance for bandobust duty the chief minister said. Health insurance will be offered to Home Guards he said adding that Telangana Government is for inclusive growth and there is no space for bonded labour in the state which is achieved after a long battle.
