Rs 200 cr for Medaram a conspiracy: Suravaram

CPI National General Secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy today said that the left parties will show real solution for prevailing problems in the country. However, he said that the left parties need some more time to become real alternative to address them.

Addressing a workshop at Makhdoom Bhavan here he said that the left parties will only alternative for the present governments which failed to address the issues. Reddy accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of trying to distance the Tribals from the Medaram festival by announcing to develop with Rs 200 cr Sammakkka and Sarakka Jathara. He suspected that the state government is with a dangerous plan only to replace Tribal pujaris with Brahmins through development of the temple at Medaram. When Hindutva and Brahmin traditions and pujaris and by putting up the photos of tribal deities there is no need of Tribal pujaris he opined.

He said that there is no difference in economic policies of the BJP Government and previous Congress governments at the Centre. These policies are pro businessmen and anti people he charged.

Sudhakar Reddy alleged that the current NDA led BJP dispensation is provoking communalism, resorting to dictatorial attitude and pushing ahead the Sangh Parivar forces. The left parties should join hands to defeat BJP first, lessen its priority and fight against their forces. CPI feels it that our prime target is to fight the BJP at all levels he said adding that left, democratic and secular parties should form a single platform to fight these forces. The remarks get significance as the CPM National General Secretary Sitaram Yechury made similar comment that the only left parties are the alternative in the country.
