As the Aneesul Ghurba fraud investigations go deeper, more irregularities are coming to light with each passing day. It was surprising to note that Aneesul Ghurba has its accounts in not one, not two but in 10 banks. Officials have deposited Rs 1,57,47,331 in 10 banks including Indian Overseas bank and 8 syndicate banks. It was also found out that during 2009, more than Rs. 2 crore rupees were deposited in the banks but the amount decreased during the next three years instead of increasing.
The question arises where the interest received from the fixed deposits is used by Aneesul Ghurba. Besides this Aneesul Ghurba receives nearly 15000 rupees monthly as donations. In addition to that it receives 30-35 sheep weekly, large quantities of rice, meat, flour, clothes, animal hides excluding the donations received on the occasion of Eidain. Where does all the money go? Waqf Board is accountable for all this, as Aneesul Ghurba is managed by Waqf Board.
