Rs. 1,552-crore annual credit plan released

Vizianagaram, March 30: MP Botcha Jhansi Lakshmi has released the annual credit plan for priority and non-priority sectors for the fiscal 2011-12 at the District Consultative Committee/District-Level Review Committee meeting with bankers.

The plan outlay has been put at Rs. 1,552.77 crore as against Rs.1,320 crore last fiscal.

Of the total credit plan, Rs. 1399.73 crore has been allocated for the priority sector (Rs. 600 crore for crop loans for both kharif and rabi, Rs.108.72 crore for agriculture term loans, Rs. 238.80 crore for allied agriculture activities, and Rs.150.30 crore for SSIs) and Rs. 301.91crore for other priority sectors.

Achievements

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Jhansi asked bankers to give priority to bank linkages for SHGs, minorities, and physically challenged persons.

District Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah, who presided over the meeting, said that the achievement in disbursement of crop loans for kharif last year was Rs.362 crore as against the target of Rs.431crore and for rabi it was Rs.106 crore as against the target of Rs.100 crore.

The target achieved in the case of SHGs was cent per cent, particularly in urban areas where the target achieved was Rs.54 crore as against Rs.34 crore.

Banking outlets

Lauding the bankers, Mr. Veerabrahmaiah asked them to open banking outlets in 266 villages having more than 2000 population in the first phase and in 1090 villages in the second phase.

Later, he reviewed the performance with regard to annual credit plan for 2010-11 with heads of various government departments.

He said that the loan reschedule date would probably be extended up to June 30 for the benefit of farmers.

B. Chandrasekhar, Zilla Parishad Chairperson, B.G.K. Acharyulu, Lead District Manager, S.D.P. Sharma, AGM, Nabard, and T. Kiran Kumar, AGM, Reserve Bank of India, were present.
