Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana is seriously considering to introduce a new scheme for the benefit of pregnant woman and children. Under this scheme, Rs. 15000 would be provided to pregnant woman as “KCR Kit”.
This was disclosed by Health Minister, Lakshma Reddy. He advised the officials of Health Dept. to prepare a project report so that it could be presented to the Assembly in its next session.
It may be mentioned that there are several complaints received by the Govt. blaming corporate hospitals for conducting Caesarian operations when there is no need. Lady officials of TS Govt. reviewed the scheme which is in vogue in Tamil Nadu where Rs. 12000 is given as Amma Kit to prevent women.
It is reported that Govt. proposes to grant Rs. 15000 to pregnant woman in three installments. In addition to this grant Govt. will also provide “KCR Kit” which contains 30 essential items.
It may be noted that on completion of 50 days of demonetization, PM Modi had announced that Govt. of India would provide Rs. 6000 on the occasion of the birth of a baby whereas Govt. of Tamil Nadu is giving Rs. 12000. If KCR approves this scheme, Telangana would be the first State in the country to implement such a novel scheme.
