Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today sanctioned Rs 10 crore for construction of a Kalyana Mandapam with all facilities at Timmapur Gutta Temple of Sri Venkateshwara at Birkur mandal of Nizamabad district here.
Appreciating the people for developing the temple, the Chief Minister vowed to develop it on the lines of Lord Venkateshwara temple of Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthamans in Chittoor district. KCR said he will soon pay a visit to TTD’s Venkateshwara Swamy to donate ornaments worth Rs 5 crore to keep his promise during statehood movement. KCR also said Timmapur Gutta will be developed as Telangana Tirumala, he declared. “There was no dearth of donors and philanthropists in the country and I will try my best to collect funds for the temple development”, KCR stated.
“We are focusing on developing the temples and encourage such meditation centers to rebuild the society to spread our precious cultural ambience and tradition, the chief minister averred. After participating in Sudharshana Yagam on the temple premises along with family members, KCR offered Rs 10,00,116 for the temple. He also announced to handover 387 acres to the temple to be turned into a tourist destination soon.
Earlier, the temple priests and officials accorded rousing reception to the CM team with Purnakumbham and then they proceeded to attend the ritual on the premises. (NSS)
