Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswar Rao today directed the officials concerned to prepare detailed project reports on the up-gradation of state roads to national highways.
At a review meeting he asked to prepare a report to get Rs 1000 cr from Centre which allotted Rs 1290 cr to construct roads in Naxal-infested areas and backward remote areas in the state .and call tenders. He said that he made a visit to Khammam wherein there is a need for better road connectivity. The minister said that efforts should be made to get Rs 1290 cr sanctioned by Union Roads and Buildings ministry for old Adialabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts and Rs 300 cr under LWE scheme. He sought to know the progress of proposed road connecting Bhadrachalam-Sarapaka-Eturu Nagaram- Kaleshwaram- Kautala highway.
The minister directed to send detailed proposals to the Centre for developing15 state roads comprising 1500 km roads into national highways. They include – Hyderabad –Karimnagar-Ramagundam 235 km, Narketpalli-Miryalaguda-Vadapalli 60 km, Jadcherla-Wanaparty-Pebbair 74 km, Mahabubnagar-Nagar Kurnool-Mannanur 83 km, Erravalli-Gadwal-Raichur 55km, Jagityal-Dharmaram-Peddapalli-Manthani-Kataram 132 km, Jahirabad-Tandu-Chincholi 70 km, Karimnagar-Rayapatnam 50 km, Warangal-Narsampet-Pakala-Illendu 85 km, Gudi Hathnur-Manthani-Chityal-Regonda-Jakaram 130km, Jaggaiahpet-Bonakal-Vyra-Tallada-Enkur-Illendu-Kothagudem 150 km and Illendu-Gundala-Pinapaka 60 km, a release said.(NSS)
