Hyderabad: RBI will bring back Rs 1,000 note with enhanced security features soon. The new note will also be smaller in size than the banned notes. The enhanced security features of the notes will ensure to check counterfeiting. According to sources the new notes which would also be Braille friendly will come in a new colour.
Though the government had earlier said it would take a few months to bring back the Rs 1,000 note its progress is being expedited because people are facing difficulty in getting change of Rs 2,000 note.
The Rs 2,000 note is likely to be phased out before general elections.
