Rs 1000 cr for Old City Development: KCR

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said that Old City of Hyderabad will be developed with all modern facilities and infrastructure and vouched for a permanent solution against floods, inundation of waters and related problems during rainy season. KCR stated that Rs 1000 cr will be spent for providing the best infrastructure in the old city to get its past glory. I will soon make a visit to the Old City and make an announcement on its development, the chief minister said. Holding a high level meeting at Pragathi Bhavan here KCR reviewed on old city development with Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Chief Secretary SK Joshi and other officials.

He said that before Ramzan festival begins I will make a visit to the old city and make announcement on development works to be taken up. I will lay foundation for the same and press in officials to complete them on a war-footing he said. The meeting gets importance as the Muslim Minorities will be celebrating Ramzan festival next month. The chief minister directed the officials concerned to come up with a plan of action on the old city development and against the stagnation of waters causing a lot of inconvenience to the people. The chief minister said that Joshi will hold regular meetings on the old city development once in 15 days. KCR also directed the officials to complete the works of Musi River cleansing and Metro Rail project in the city. (NSS)
