Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today kept his promise by giving administration sanction of funds for Kadem project repairs. The Minister gave permission for using Rs 10.47 cr funds for repair of D-13 canal of Kadem project followed by an appeal from farmers of Utnur area last month.
With this, the Utnoor area farmers can get waters to irrigate about 5,575 acres on completion of the repair works to the canal. The minister promised to take up repair works when the farmers sought waters for last acres in the area of Utnoor. Canal bund will be strengthened by cementing the old bridge, guide walls protection walls, laying 75 mm width lining and repair of shutters. (NSS)
