RRB examinations to resume from Sep 26

New Delhi, August 12: The Railway Recruitment Board examinations, which were postponed after CBI unearthed a multi-crore job scam, will resume from September 26.

“The examinations would be held under a new fool-proof system,” said a Railway official.

Railways had earlier postponed a couple of examinations scheduled in June and July after CBI had on June 18 claimed to have unearthed a recruitment scam and arrested eight persons, including son of Chairman of Railway Recruitment Board, Mumbai, for allegedly leaking exam question paper.

Railways, which have about two lakh vacancies, started the recruitment exercise for filling about 40,000 posts in phases on June six.

Describing the unearthing of the alleged scam as a big blow to its efforts to fill up vital posts, Chairman Railway Board Vivek Sahai had earlier said they would adopt “checks and balances” in the examination procedure to prevent leakage of question papers.
