Mumbai, April 11: The Shiv Sena has alleged that Home Minister R R Patil was “demonising” Hindu outfits Abhinav Bharat and Sanatan Sanstha.
The Sena’s reaction follows Patil’s statement in the Assembly about police having possession of audio tapes of a conversation between two members of Hindu outfits discussing a chemical powder, which could kill a person if placed in his shoes
and go undetected during post mortem. Patil had also said the two voices were speaking in a derogatory manner about RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
In its editorial comment on Saturday, Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamna’ alleged Patil’s statements were aimed at appeasing Muslim voters and dividing Hindus.
The Sena claimed the two Hindu groups were keeping Hindutva alive and making allegations against them amounted to weakening Hindutva.
“Congress and NCP are allergic to Hindus and Hindutva (outfits) and have a tendency of blaming Hindutva protagonists on the slightest pretext to ensure Muslims are kept in good humour,” the editorial said.
Patil’s statement in the Assembly had come in reply to the issue raised by NCP MLA Jitendra Avhad, who claimed the two groups had plotted to kill Bhagwat.
